An under-construction affordable housing development was burned in the recent protests in Minneapolis, reports the Star Tribune.

The 189-unit property by Wellington Management was expected to open later this year. The redevelopment project is on the site of the former Rainbow Foods grocery store in south Minneapolis, according to the news article.

The property was fully engulfed in flames during last week’s riots following the death of George Floyd while being arrested in the city. A video shows a white police officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck. The death of Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, has sparked protests in cities across the country.
